DIAMOND BOOTS!

A change of scenery

Last week I took advantage of the beautiful weather even though it was quite windy, to check out Hallett Cove Conservation Park. Something I've been meaning to do for a while and what better excuse to explore new territory than preparing for our fundraiser "Walk a Mile in My Boots".

It certainly didn't disappoint, and I'll be back to venture even further along the walking trail. My favourite part was The Sugarloaf - such beautiful colours in this sandstone formation.

Strathalbyn Part 2

It's been quite windy and cold these past few days and so not always easy to don the coat and scarf and head out for a walk.
Yet compared to the 6,000 plus people who have no home to go to on any given night, having to tolerate this kind of weather is nothing special.
Without hesitation, I put on my trusty walking shoes and head out down the street where I quite quickly get caught up in the beauty of my surroundings.

Strathalbyn Part 1

In preparation of Homelessness week (4 to 10 August) I'm getting in as many miles as possible. As I'm walking around my hometown of Strathalbyn, I thought I might share a little of it with you.

Initial Days

Building up some miles around Strathalbyn with the added advantage of improving my fitness. The memorial Gardens are often part of the route I take but also walking along the Angus River. Everything is much easier when the sun is out. I must admit I don't much enjoy the dull grey skies along with bare trees that is common these winter days.  However, thinking of the many people who don't have a warm and comfortable place to call home, motivates me to put on the coat and take the first of many steps outdoors.

Let's help end homelessness.

This National Homelessness Week, I'll be walking 8 kms a day to raise funds for the 7,000+ people experiencing homelessness in South Australia.

All funds go to Hutt St Centre, who have been supporting people at risk of or experiencing homelessness for over 70 years by providing essential support and wellbeing services all in a safe, welcoming space.

I'd be so grateful for your support! If you can’t join me for a walk (I'd welcome the company), please give generously to my donation page.

Together we can help end homelessness.

Thank you to my sponsors
