Step up to end homelessness
this National Homelessness Week
This August, walk a mile for people experiencing homelessness

No one should have to face homelessness alone.
Walk in solidarity with our community on Friday 8 August — a powerful moment to stand with the 7,000+ South Australians without a safe place to call home.
Go the extra mile: fundraise and take on the challenge to walk 2, 7 or even 10 miles a day during National Homelessness Week (4–10 August).
In Australia, it’s estimated that a person sleeping rough walks around 28km (17.8 miles) each week — just to reach essential services and find safety for the night.
Will you step up to help end homelessness for them?

No matter how difficult things look right now, it can get better. You've got this.

We all deserve safety and warmth, and to live without the judgement of others. Your class or living arrangements do not determine what kind of human being you are. Be kind to each other.

You are walking in Perry's boots

Perry has been coming to Hutt St Centre for about 20 years. He slept in a swag near Hutt St Centre for months, until his case manager helped Perry find a home of his own.
Perry still comes to Hutt St Centre regularly for meals, creating art, and catching up with people.
“You've got everything here. You've got Services Australia, you've got food, you've got washing, you've got everything that a person needs to survive. I’ve got no family here, so Hutt St is my family.”
In celebration of Walk a Mile in My Boots, Perry painted a special pair of boots.
“I’ve been painting on and off since I was a kid. My nannas showed me how and I always think of them when I’m painting.

Thank you to our supporting partners for going the extra mile to end homelessness
