Why take part
Bring your school community together
Walk a Mile in My Boots is a meaningful way to bring students and staff together for a shared experience that builds connection, empathy and lasting impact — all while supporting people facing homelessness in South Australia.
Step up your way
Come together with our amazing community on Friday 7 August or take on Walk a Mile in My Boots your way by walking on your school grounds or in your local area anytime during challenge week (3–9 August) — whatever works best for your students and school community.
A powerful way to make a difference
Every school fundraiser helps create real change. Every dollar raised supports people to access food, care and the support they need to rebuild their lives.
How to register your school
1. Choose your team captain
Every great movement starts with someone stepping forward. Choose a teacher, house leader or student captain to bring your school together.
2. Create your school team
Give your team a name, set a goal, and start something your whole school can get behind.
3. Choose your Walk a Mile moment
Join thousands across South Australia on Friday 7 August, or take part your way anytime during challenge week (3–9 August).
4. Bring your school community with you
Share your team page and invite students, staff and families to walk, give and stand together in support.
5. Learn, connect and take action
Use our school resources to spark conversation, build empathy, and help students understand what homelessness looks like in their community — then take on your Walk a Mile together.
6. Walk with purpose
Step out together knowing every step and every dollar raised is helping create real change. Happy walking.
