Let's help end homelessness through community.
Hello friends! On Friday 7 August, I’ll be walking approximately 5 miles to work before dawn, in order to raise funds to help the 6,000 people experiencing homelessness in South Australia on any given day. It will undoubtedly be a typically cold, bleak, and unforgiving winter morning. All funds will go to The Hutt St Centre where I still work, who have been supporting people doing it tough for more than 65 years by providing security through nutritious meals, hot showers, housing advocacy and a unique brand of human compassion.
Covid-19 may have robbed us of our chance to come together in solidarity in our thousands, but it doesn't stop us from digging deep and donating to a cause so incredibly close to my heart. To experience homelessness is to forfeit security, warmth, belonging and dignity. To give generously towards the fight against homelessness is to boldly state that everybody deserves to feel safe, in a place they can call build connection and find worth.
The task is monumental. Will you help me?
If you're able (even after all the disruptive ridiculousness of 2020), please consider donating to my Walk a Mile page. No amount is too small.
Together, we can put an end to the suffering experienced by so many of our fellow South Australians.
Thank you in advance.
