Since 2008, South Australians have come together during National Homelessness Week in August to take attend Walk a Mile in My Boots to show their support for those experiencing homelessness. Last year, together our tribe raised $278,555 for Hutt St Centre to continue providing life changing, essential and professional services to help rebuild lives.
In 2019, 13,847 people walked a mile with us across Adelaide, McLaren Vale and At My School events in a tremendous show of support for Hutt St Centre, and people experiencing disadvantage.
2020 has been a rough year for most of us, but especially for those living on our streets. With more than 6,000 people experiencing homelessness in South Australia, we need you more than ever.
While COVID-19 will impact our ability to gather as a large group for the Walk a Mile in My Boots event in Adelaide… the good news is we can still walk a mile (or more) to support people experiencing homelessness.
So this year, the Walk a Mile in My Boots Event presents…
In 2020, we aim to collectively walk 6,000 miles for the 6,000 homeless people in South Australia on Friday August 7. The Walk a Mile Challenge provides South Australian’s with the opportunity to step out and ensure Hutt St Centre remains a place where people who are experiencing homelessness can change their lives forever.
So, grab your boots and walk a mile or more in your neighbourhood this August and help end homelessness.
