Why participate

The Walk a Mile in My Boots Challenge provides South Australians with the opportunity to step out and ensure Hutt St Centre remains a place where people can change their circumstances for good.

This year, we aim to collectively walk 70,000 miles for the 7,000 people experiencing homelessness in South Australia during National Homelessness Week from 6 to 11 August.

We need you and your workplace to step up and become part of our vision to end homelessness.

PLUS, there are heaps of benefits for your workplace too! Including:

  • Participating in Walk a Mile in My Boots will encourage staff to go on solo or team walks and improve their health and wellbeing!
  • Together, they'll become part of the Walk a Mile in My Boots community, have fun with colleagues and challenge each other.
  • Taking part in a shared challenge is a great way to keep your staff engaged and connected.
  • The funds you raise will help fulfil the immediate and long-term needs of people at risk of or experiencing homelessness and give them the chance of a fresh start.

Matched Giving

Matched Giving is when your workplace matches every dollar you raise.

The biggest way to double your impact is for your workplace to match the funds that you and your colleagues raise.

Ask your CEO, Manager or the Head of People & Culture in your organisation to match every dollar you raise.

We know reaching out may be challenging so we have put together an Email Template to use as a guide. Pick up the phone, book a meeting or send a follow-up email if you haven’t heard back in a week.
