Homelessness is a complex discussion – but it doesn’t have to be.

We can make it really simple. We can go straight to the core. There are people out there, even here in little ol’Adelaide, that need help. That’s the gist of it. I’m a firm believer that if you’re in position that enables you to help another human life, you should at the very least give it a thought.

Walking a mile (or more!) on Friday August 7th, for the 6,000 people experiencing homelessness in South Australia, won’t solve the problem… but you can betcha it helps! It is better than doing nothing. By raising funds to help support Hutt St Centre who have been supporting people for more than 65 years by providing a hearty meal, a hot shower, all in a safe, welcoming space – you’re evoking change.

Homelessness deserves compassion. There are an abundance of reasons why some might be homeless, so on that note please remember:

Addiction needs treatment – not a prison.
Mental Illness require care – not judgment.

Simply. People are people. Let’s look out for each other.
