How it Works

The Walk a Mile in My Boots Challenge is back for 2021!

We are challenging you to Walk a Mile or more on 1-7 August in your neighborhood. It can be in the park, at the gym, by the beach or around the neighbourhood.

Held during National Homelessness Week, we will Walk a Mile or more and experience just how challenging winter mornings can be.

We want to come together as one community, even though we are apart, to collectively walk 60,000 miles for the nearly 6,000 people experiencing homelessness in South Australia.

For those who have participated in the event in the past, to ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers and our amazing community of supporters, during uncertain times surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and mass gatherings, we have decided to continue with the Walk a Mile in My Boots Challenge and will look to bring back a mass event when it is safe to do so. The good news is that anyone, anywhere can particpate in the challenge and show their support and raise funds for people experiencing homelessness in South Australia.
